Tickets booked by passengers in domestic and international carriers will be refunded: DGCA informs SC.

In response to a plea which pointed out that passengers did not intend to avail the Credit Shell created by airlines in lieu of refund and urged that passengers should be given a full refund, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has informed the Supreme Court that the tickets booked by passengers between 25th March to 3rd May amid COVID-19 will be refunded. The Supreme Court passed an order on June 13 which had asked private airlines along with Ministry of Civil Aviation to find out a way out to refund the airfare of passengers whose flights were cancelled during the lockdown.
